Camera trap monitoring

Become part of the unseen story of the Amazon.

Camera traps are autonomous devices that capture photos and videos when an animal crosses their sensor. Deployed in strategic areas of the Pacaya Samiria buffer zone and the Avireri-Vraem Biosphere Reserve, they document species that are rarely seen and even more rarely photographed.

By sponsoring a camera trap, you directly fund the installation and six-month monitoring of these devices — managed by our team in close collaboration with Ashaninka park rangers and Indigenous communities who know the forest better than anyone.

This is symbolic sponsorship: you do not own a specific camera, but your contribution has a measurable, documented impact on the conservation of Amazonian biodiversity.

Discover the species we have identified through camera trap monitoring.

Each of these four emblematic species has been documented at our field sites. Your sponsorship keeps the cameras running — and the data flowing.

TAPIR

Lowland Tapir

The largest terrestrial mammal in the Amazon and a keystone species for forest regeneration.

GIANT ARMADILLO

Giant Armadillo

One of the most elusive mammals on Earth. Our Pacaya Samiria sites have produced some of the first confirmed sightings in the region.

JAGUAR

Jaguar

The apex predator of the Amazon. Camera trap footage is our most powerful evidence for territorial protection.

ANDEAN BEAR

Andean Bear

A rare visitor to our Junín sites — the only bear species native to South America, and a key indicator of healthy upper-Amazonian ecosystems.
